Just a couple of reminders -
MANAGERS MEETING - There is a managers meeting Thursday night (6/17/2010) at the host hotel – Holiday Inns and Suites - 1501 Sunport Place (in Abq near the airport) 505-944-2255 at 7pm. Please have one representative for each team at this meeting, if possible. This is where the official brackets will be distributed, review birth certificates and playing / park rules will be discussed. This will be the only opportunity to clarify playing rules and tournament policies – I won’t be able to give individual managers meeting the morning of the event. If you can’t have a representative at the meeting, be sure to arrive at the tournament headquarters (Los Lunas Fields) 1 hour prior to your game time to pick up the official brackets, sign your roster and review birth certificates. Umpires will not start your game until your team has checked in.
BASEBALLS – Each team will be required to provide 2 new USSSA stamped game balls at the pre-game umpire meeting for each contest. Those balls do not have to be purchased through me but I will have Worth baseballs (leather) available at the managers meeting and at the tournament HQ - $40.00 per dozen.
ROSTERS – Be sure to update your roster on the national USSSA web site no later than 3pm on Thursday (June 17th). There will be NO additions to any team’s roster once the first pitch of their first game has been thrown. The name and birth date on the national USSSA roster must appear exactly as it appears on the birth certificate. Any deviations may result in the loss of any protest or roster check and could result in the forfeiture of games and removal from the tournament.
14u - I have had one 14u team tell me that they can't play due to player injuries. The team had already paid so if you know of a 14u team that wants into the tournament let me know. If I can't find a replacement I'll adjust the games as necessary and will update the web site before Thursday.
