Minutes from 1/8/2009 Manager's Meeting

Here are the minutes from Jan 8th managers meeting for the 2009 spring AAD/USSSA competitive baseball program.

The coaches voted on a 16 game season.
The dates of play will be:
March 29th
April 5th
April 19th
April 26th
May 10th – Yes, I know it Mothers Day – 5 teams opposed playing – 40 teams approved playing
May 17th
May 31st
June 7th
June 14th will be the make up weekend.
We are off on:
April 12th - Easter
May 3rd - Triple Crown Tournament in Abq/Moriarity
May 24th - Memorial Day Weekend - Several tournaments
June 14th - Triple Crown State – Presuming we don’t have any make ups
Cost -
10u and 12u - $1575.00
14u - $1750.00
Deposit deadline - all $500.00 deposits (along with team registration form and the two page program policies agreement) must be submitted NLT February 15th. Any team that pays a deposit and decides they don't want to play can withdraw from the league prior to the Feb. 15th date with out forfeiture of any league fees. The deposit is applied to the purchase of the league baseballs, insurance, facility deposits and USSSA registration. The balance is due March 1st.
The coaches voted on and approved an additional $1.00 per game, per team to provide for a veteran umpire to monitor and evaluate the umpires at a facility each week. The coaches also voted on and approved the creation of a league / tournament website to disseminate information and promote better communication. This web site will add $15.00 total per team to the league fees. These additional fees are reflected in the above total cost.
St. Patrick’s Day USSSA NIT Tournament - March 14th and 15th
Entry Fee $400.00 – due by March 1st.
This is the first National Invitational Tournament of the year and the will in each age will receive a berth to the USSSA World championships in their age division.
9u / 10u / 11u / 12u / 13u / 14u age divisions
3 game guarantee (6 possible)
Individual awards for 1st & 2nd place team (with a minimum of 8 teams per division)
Team trophies 1-3rd.
We already have teams from Colorado, Arizona, Texas and surrounding NM areas entered.
DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE MARCH 5TH MEETING (for those coaches that have registered) - we will be discussing playing rules, schedules, team rankings and pools for the start of the league play, bat weight/length restrictions etc.
