Here are the minutes from Jan 7th managers meeting for the 2010 spring AAD/USSSA competitive baseball program.

# of Games -

The 10u, 11u and 12u coaches voted on a 16 game season.  The dates of play will be –

March 28^th

June 27^th will be the make up weekend.

The 13u and 14u coaches voted on an 18 game season.  The dates of play will be –

We are off on:

April 4th - Easter

May 9^th - Triple Crown Tournament in Abq/Moriarity – Also Mothers Day

May 30^th - Memorial Day Weekend - Several tournaments

June 13^th - Triple Crown State

Cost -

10u, 11u and 12u - $1625.00

14u - $2000.00

Deposit deadline - all $500.00 deposits (along with team registration form and the two page program policies agreement) must be submitted NLT February 15th.  Any team that pays a deposit and decides they don't want to play can withdraw from the league prior to the Feb. 15^th date with out forfeiture of any league fees.  The deposit is applied to the purchase of the league baseballs, insurance, facility deposits and USSSA registration.  The balance is due March 4th.

Pay Pal is an option for those preferring to use a credit card for payment – email me for specifics.

The coaches voted on and approved maintaining the same services / expenses associated with the program as last year.  The specific line item expenses are broken down in the manager’s booklet.

Schedule Splits –

I realize how much each team wants to avoid the splits that are a by-product when you play two different opponents (each day) and I will work to eliminate as many of them as possible but when teams wait till the last minute to get fees and paperwork in it creates a scheduling nightmare for me so I have adopted a new policy with regard to schedule requests and allocating splits in the schedule.  If a team is late with any of the deadlines outlined on the check list they will be assessed an “point” and the teams with the most points (when it comes time for scheduling) will receive the most splits, when / if they are necessary.  I will of course try to avoid all splits if I can and I won’t “look” to create a split for any team at any time. If every team gets all fees, paperwork and rosters posted on time I will do my best to balance the number of splits evenly over the season.

Interested / Participating League Teams (as of the date of this email)-

The following teams were either at the managers meeting on Jan 8th, already paid their deposit or have expressed interest with me that they are in the league - I'll send another email out after the Feb 15th deadline with the final numbers.  Please help get the word out in the 8u and 10u age division - it looks like we'll probably have 10-12 teams in the 10u age division and I would like to get to 16 teams if possible.  After confirming with contacts I have for the 8u division there is only one team interested in that age division.

If I have

1. Omitted anyone or

2. Have your team as in, and you are not in or

3. Have the incorrect age or name for your team,

Please send me an email so that I can make the changes.  It is critical I get an accurate projection so I can ensure we have the correct number of fields for the league play.

In addition to the teams listed above I still haven’t heard from 29 of the teams that played in the 2009!!! . . . . .  pray for me!

DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE MARCH 4TH MEETING (for those coaches that have registered) - we will be discussing playing rules, schedules, team rankings and pools for the start of the league play, bat weight/length restrictions etc.

Attached is a check list to assist you with meeting the upcoming deadlines and a current manager’s packet where you can type in the information and print it. 

St. Patrick’s Day USSSA NIT Tournament - March 14^th and 15^th

Entry Fee $425.00 – due by March 1^st

This is the first National Invitational Tournament of the year and the will in each age will receive a berth to the USSSA World championships in their age division.

9u / 10u / 11u / 12u / 13u / 14u age divisions

3 game guarantee (6 possible)

Individual awards for 1st & 2^nd place team (with a minimum of 8 teams per division)

Team trophies 1-3^rd and All Tournament and MVP Awards

We already have teams from Colorado, Texas and surrounding NM areas entered.
